Heavily pregnant tummies are now being flaunted proudly

It is true that when pregnancy starts getting to the full term, the tummy is no longer concealed. In other words, everyone can see the heavily protruded tummy at this stage of pregnancy. Even those who were hiding it at an early stage, would give up hiding because the tummy would be obvious.

But hold on, this is not the topic of the story this week. It is not the main bone of contention. What we are going to be looking into is the fact that today’s funky pregnant mums no longer cover their tummies unlike what used to be obtainable in the days of the yore. Or in the days of our grannies. These days, it is a common sight on the net and Facebook to see yummy pregnant mums flaunting their pumps without giving a hoot. Maternity styles that open up the big tummy abound in boutiques today. Did you say wow?

The other day at Elegushi beach, in Lagos Island, a young lady who is heavily pregnant wore her bikini leaving her heavily protruded tummy on display. She caught the attention of everybody present at the beach. Eyes really concentrated on her when she was busy striking some poses before the camera. Her hubby was the one taking the shots. At a time, they beckoned on one of the beach users staring at them to come and help them snap because the hubby needed to pose with her. While yours sincerely was admiring them, I remembered in those years how mothers would remind their daughters to have their buttons well buttoned up so that no one sees your tummy. But now, things have really changed. Pregnant pumps are being flaunted these days and since this does not pose any harm to both the unborn baby and its mother, there is nothing stopping this trend.

When the pregnant mum was approached and was asked some questions, her answer centered on the fact that the pictures would evoke beautiful memories in the future. “When I eventually deliver, I would show my child these pictures. I also want to shut the mouths of gossips who would be saying that I adopted my baby. My elder sister is battling with such gossips. Because it took her years for her to conceive, some people are now saying that she is not the biological mother of her baby. I wouldn’t want to be confronted with such nonsense,” she giggled.
