‘I’m ready to confront criticisms that run my culture down’

Queen  Eremionkhale Theodora Rhoma is a beauty queen. She hails from Ondo state, a  student of Preston International School Ondo State. She is 5 ft / 5 inches tall and her vital statistics are 30, 26 and 34. She unwinds by reading fashion magazines, and when she is less busy she gets joy from photography and yoga. She tells ADAEZE AMOS about her lifestyle and what she wants to use her platform as the Most Elegant Girl Delta Culture to achieve for herself.
Excerpts

Her life philosophy?
My philosophy of life lies on the fact that where there is no pain, there won’t be an outcome of gain.
Your role model?
My role model is in the person of Miss Tyra Lynne Banks, a motivational speaker, host and super model.
What do you wish to use your platform as the Most Elegant Girl Delta Culture to achieve for yourself?
I’m going to use my platform as the Most Elegant Girl Delta Culture to boost myself confidence and make culture stand out for me as an individual. I'm also ready to confront criticisms that run my culture down.
How do you intend to use it to promote our cultures which seem to be fading or dying gradually?
I intend to actually promote our cultures by making citizens understand that without culture we have nothing. Our cultures define who we are as individuals.
How do you promote Nigerian cultures through your dress sense (fashion and style)?
I wear a lot of ankara fabric designs. That showcases my style. My style is very unique although it is really appeasing to the eye.
Is there anything about some of our cultures you frown at and wish for it to be abolished?
Yes! As a matter of fact, there are a few. Well, it has come to my notice the Nigerian society has been dotted with peculiar cultural practices that are potently hurtful to women’s emancipation such as early/forced marriage, wife inheritance and widowhood.
Can you name some Nigerian artistes you love their songs because of the ways our culture is promoted in their songs and musical videos?
Yes, I love Yemi Alade. Most of her musical videos have an African concept in them.
What higher beauty pageants are you targeting?
I look forward to contesting in the Face Of Delta Beauty Pageant which is sponsored by the  government of Delta State.
If you are made the commissioner of Youth And Culture in your state in the nearest future, how are you going to promote Nigerian cultures and better the lives of the youths?
Hmm, I will take it up as a very good opportunity to encourage unskilled and unemployed youths in Nigeria to acquire dependent skills that will make them employable youths or to be self employed with government support and supervision.
What have you got to flaunt about yourself as a beautiful lady?
I feel the only real elegance is in the mind; if you have got that, the rest really comes from it.
When you are down what do you do to gain back your groove?
I love listening to inspirational songs and gospel music when I feel down. It has a way of exciting my inner self.
What are the qualities of your ideal man?
I would want my ideal man to portray faithfulness, intelligence, passion, dependable and true love. And he has to be a Christian obviously.
