Queen Siaka Nimat, Miss Curvy Nigeria, Tourism, working in rice farm at Ubandoma village, Bida, Niger state

‘Ladies too can have rice farms, why not?’
One  beauty queen who insists that being a beauty queen is not just about wearing a crown and  sash is Queen Siaka Nimat,  the Miss Curvy Nigeria, Tourism, 2015. She is one black beauty who feels it in her bones that time waits for no queen, hence she has never relented working, striving and making efforts to touch lives. She knows that there is what is called tenure in the life of a beauty queen. Once you are crowned a beauty queen, your tenure clock starts to tick. “This means that one needs to fulfill all that she has promised to do. A beauty queen is not supposed to give empty promises concerning her pet projects. One full term (tenure) is enough time to do something. Reason is that even if you give a lazy beauty queen five years or more, she wouldn’t still be able to do something.
“So, I would never relent working, knowing that  October this year, another Miss Curvy Nigeria, Tourism would be crowned. I wouldn’t want my face to appear on the list/roll call of beauty queens who couldn’t use their platform wisely,” stressed.

(Laughed for long). I knew you were going to ask me this question. Well, for me, I never really gave acting a thought, but after practicing Microbiology for a short while at kaduna Refining and Petrochemicals,  I realized there was no way I could do this for the rest of my life. Back in school then I used to host a few campus shows and it gave me so much pleasure. So, I decided to try out my hands in the entertainment industry and found myself in acting school and the rest is history.

‘How Stella, my childhood friend, ruined my marriage’(2)

This is the continuation of Amanda, Gilbert and Stella’s story. Amanda and Stella were babyhood friends but they parted ways immediately after secondary school. Stella stopped communicating with Amanda when her WASC result was poor because of the way her parents scolded her when Amanda’s result was perfect. She retrieved back to her shelf and avoided her one time bosom friend like a plague.

Immediately after their youth service, Amanda and Gilbert (who met at the orientation camp, Jos) tied the knots and became man and wife. “I was indeed happy, at least I fulfilled the promise I made to my dear mother before going for my youth service. She advised me to bring a suitor home after service because I was ripe for marriage. ‘Marriage is very sweet especially when you get married at your prime and your prime according to my yardstick is 24. That was when I got married dear daughter, so toe same line,’ she told me.

'How Stella, my childhood friend ruined my marriage'

Amanda and Stella were babyhood friends who grew up in the same neighbourhood and attended the same secondary school. While Amanda proceeded to the university, Stella Maris could not make the grade to secure admission.
“I gained admission into University of Nigeria Nsukka to study Pharmacy, but Stella-Maris couldn’t have a good result after secondary school. Her West African Examinations Council result was poor. She had just two credits and failed the rest five papers. When her parents knew that I performed well, they scolded her severely that she stopped talking to me. Even when I was in school, I tried to keep in touch.  I wrote her letters but she didn’t reply. I actually wanted her with me in school, so that she would enroll in preliminary studies and be sure that she would make her papers in the General Certificate Examination. But she wasn’t keen and thus never replied to my letters even when I told her what I was planning for her. That was the last I heard of her,” Amanda recalled.
