Human, Blood Spilling Yams Found In Minna (with pics)...

According to sources, human-looking yams were found in Minna, Nigeria. It was said that when the yams were cut in half it produced a blood-like subsatance which was taken to the lab to find out why yams would look that weird.. Yoruba actress Toyin Aimakhu and husband of two years Adeniyi Johnson who is also an actor have seperated. Although the-used-to be couple hasn't said anything publicly, they have both shown it in different ways. Toyin removed the very loving status on her Instagram which says "I love my husband, no matter what." Adeniyi also removed his status of being married to "separated" on his facebook. Deadly Accident on Ikorodu Road this morning.

The gastly accident happened on Ikorodu road, Ketu, Lagos, this morning January 24, 2015. It was said that a trailer carring a container colided with a commercial bus, and the container it was carring fell on some other cars leaving a couple of them dead. See more pictures of the accident;

 

APC Surpoter Killed In Lagos.

Mr. Eyitayo Peters aka Abona, who was an All Progressives Congress supporter in the Agege area of Lagos State  lost his life on Thursday after being shot in the face on Orile Road.

Punch Metro learnt that the incident was caused by a feud between supporters of Mr. Oluyinka Ogundinmu of the APC and Mr. Oluniyi Raheem of the Peoples Democratic Party.

It was learnt that both Ogundinmu and Raheem are contesting the House of Assembly Agege Constituency 2 seat.The two groups, it was learnt, had been engaged in a show of force following allegations of removal of posters.

However, it was learnt that on Thursday, trouble started at the Methodist Primary School, Tabon Tabon, where agents of the Independent National Electoral Commission were distributing Permanent Voter Cards.

It was learnt that there was a fight when some youths attempted to steal PVCs.The youths were said to have taken to the streets to wreak havoc during which Peters was shot and killed.

Ogundinmu, who visited the scene of the incident, told Punch Metro that he was holding a town hall meeting with supporters when he heard the gunshots.

The APC candidate, who identified the deceased as his supporter, accused the PDP of fomenting trouble because they knew they could not win a fair contest.

He said,

“He (Peters) was shot from the roof of the Swiss Hotel which belongs to Raheem and it is very barbaric.
“Raheem’s thugs were harassing INEC workers at the Methodist Primary School Tabon Tabon. So, when I got information about the harassment of INEC officials, I called the Divisional Police Officer of the Elere Police Station but the thugs had fled the PVC distribution centre before policemen arrived. The thugs then hid in Raheem’s hotel.
“I returned to where I was holding a town hall meeting and asked the policemen to provide security in the area. It was when I was inside the hall that I heard gunshots. When I ran out, I discovered that Abona (Peters) was dead while the other was in critical condition near Raheem’s hotel. They had been shot by Raheem’s thugs who were in his hotel. I have taken Ogunjimi to a hospital in Oko Oba where he is undergoing a surgery. I have told my supporters not to retaliate.”

However, Raheem said his supporters were not responsible for Abona’s murder. He said Abona was most likely killed by the policemen stationed beside his hotel.

He said it was the APC that was perpetrating violence in the area.He said,

“What happened was that the APC boys stormed the PVC distribution centre and wanted to collect cards for people by proxy. My agent, who was at the centre, refused to allow this and instead of the INEC officials to reason with him, they connived with the APC boys to kick my agent out.
“The APC boys then came to my hotel and vandalised the place so I called the police. Policemen fired warning shots at the thugs. I was told that he (Peters) was killed by a police bullet.My hotel has been searched and no weapons were found inside. It is Ogundinmu and his thugs that perpetrate violence in this area.”

However, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, said the deceased was not killed by the police.

Nwosu said the policemen reacted to a distress call about violence in the area but when they arrived at the scene, they found Peters dead.

He, however, added that investigations into the murder had commenced

Nollywood actress turn musician Tonto Dike,   who also goes by the name Poko-Lee mourns the loss of not just a collgeaue but friend Muna Obiekwe. She posted a tribute to him on her instagram page. Here's what she said;

14 Year Old Jailed for Allegedly Killing Stepmother’s Fowl in Kano.

A 14-year-old boy was sentenced to 5months imprisonment for allegedly murdering his step-mother’s fowl in their house in Kano state.

According to a legal council, Audu Bulama Bukarti, the boy, whose identity was withheld had a dispute with his step-mum in Wudil local government area of Kano State some five months ago.

“He was taken to the police station by the step-mum over her chicken and when efforts by the police to settle them yielded no result, the case was transferred to court,” said the attorney.

World Wide Weird News reports that the boy had so far spent five months at a youth detention center.

Bukarti further decried the deplorable state of the Youth Detention Centre where the boy was kept adding that the detainees were being starved by the management.

The state commissioner for women affairs and social welfare, Dr. Binta Tijjani Jibril however, refuted the claims stating that the inmates were not in anywhere deprived of food as they were fed thrice daily.

2 year old shoots himself dead with his dad’s gun inside family car.

2yr old Kaleb Ahles shot himself dead with his father’s gun which he found in the glove compartment of their family car. The sad incident happened yesterday January 21st . The mum told Florida police that she and Kaleb’s dad had been moving out of their home is Eastlake Florida and had left Kaleb inside the car briefly to pick some things when they heard a loud bang from inside the car.

They ran to the car to find the toddler had mistakenly shot himself in the chest with a .380 calibre loaded handgun. The parents said they began performing CPR but he was pronounced dead after arriving at a local hospital.

A Florida police officer said

“Kaleb had entered the vehicle at some point as the family was loading the vehicle to move out of the house. In a situation like this, where it looks like the gun was secured, they took reasonable steps, and you can lawfully keep a gun in a vehicle in a glove box. It was secured, it looks like in the glove box itself, and sometimes just bad things happen.”

The police said the parents would not face charges.

“I don’t think anybody can punish these parents any more than what they’ve been punished. This is something they will carry with them and live with the rest of their lives.”

Rihanna Wins Court Battle Against Top-Shop.

The famous pop musician, Rihanna has won a court battle against fashion retailer Top-Shop over a T-shirt featuring a photo of her on it. 

            The Britain Court of Appeal upheld a ruling on Thursday, January 23, saying that Top-Shop can not sell the shirt bearing the  photo of the singer  which was taken while filming a video in Northern Ireland in 2011. But the Top-Shop Lawyer argued that images of other famous musicians  such as Elvis Presley and Jim Hendrix have been used and Rihanna was using this to claim that "only a celebrity may ever market his or her own character".

The High Court Judge  ruled in Rihanna's favour,  saying that " the star's fans may be confused into thinking she endorsed the T-shirt".

Saudi Arabia's King, Abdullah bin Abdilaziz Dies At 90.

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz who was the Crowned Prince in 1982 and ascended the throne in 2005 after the death of his half-brother King Fahd, died early today Friday, January 23, according to a statement from the Royal Court. 

   There was no exact cause of death noted, but the King was hospitalized for a lung infection on December 31, 2014.

         King Abdullah bin's younger brother, aged 79years,  the Crown Prince Salman has announced the death of his brother via a televised broadcast. He also announced that he has ascended the throne and crowns Maquin bin Abdulaziz as Crown Prince. RIP King Abdullah..

President GEJ's Sister Nancy Jonathan To Be Buried Tomorrow..

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s younger sister, Mrs. Nancy Jonathan-Olei who passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 is to be buried tomorrow, Friday, January 23, 2015 in Otuoke, Bayelsa State. According to a burial programme issued on behalf of the Jonathan and Otazi families of Otuoke, Mrs. Jonathan-Olei’s body will leave the Otuoke Comprehensive Hospital Mortuary at 9 am for her residence in Otuoke.

Mrs. Jonathan-Olei’s remains will be received by members of her family at the residence and moved to the Dame Patience Jonathan Square for a Service of Songs scheduled to begin at 10 am. A funeral service for the late Mrs. Jonathan-Olei will be held at the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church at 1 pm after which her remains will be interred.

President Jonathan is scheduled to participate fully in Mrs. Jonathan-Olei’s burial programme. She is survived by her children, grand-children and siblings including President Jonathan, Sir Ariolo Ebele Jonathan, Mr. Evans Jonathan, Madam Obebhatein Jonathan, Mrs. Dorcas Awo, Mrs. Stella Donald, Mrs. Aziboni Abuge and Miss Dagao-apu Jonathan.
