Queen Siaka Nimat was seen unwinding at Silva-bird Galleria, Abuja

'Good to unwind while getting set for my birthday on 29th Nov'
All work and no play they say makes Jill a dull girl. This  is an old cliché  applicable to what Queen Siaka Nimat, Miss Curvy Nigeria, Tourism, was seen doing yesterday (48 hours to her birthday) 27th of November.
A bystander saw her sauntering into Silva-Bird, Cinema, Abuja, causally dressed, not wearing her crown nor a sash over her shoulder. She didn’t want to attract unnecessary attention to herself.
The close observer said the queen walked into the premises delectably, waving at a few friends and of course took some shots with some of her fans. Did you say what a humble queen? Humility pays.

‘My style is simple with a touch of blonde hair’

What is the latest about you?
Nothing much! I have just been flowing with the breeze of life, embracing both the happy and sad moments. One cannot go through life without experiencing either of these two things.
What new things have you added to your profile since 2013 your tenure as Miss Odua was over?
I have been working  on my own little projects and partnering  with event organizers for shows, events and contests. Currently, I’m working on a contest called ‘Play Niaja’.
You said  Miss Odua Beauty Pageant was a door opener for you. How did it benefit your life?
Yes it was indeed a door opener because things became easier for me. I got to meet some important people in the country and also learnt a lot in terms of building my personality. I started seeing things differently.
Can you reach out to girls who are aspiring for one beauty pageant or the other? What do you think they should get ready with having experienced it?
They should be ready to face disappointments because every girl enters the competition with hope to win. And that way one would be disappointed if she doesn’t. Life is full of disappointments but when you have passion and faith in what you do, when it’s your time God would definitely crown you.

Queen Siaka Nimat's style sizzles in yellow

Queen Siaka was busy admiring herself
Don’t just yell! Opt for yellow!
There are some colours that scream for unnecessary attention. Crazy, shocking colours that can blind the eye if they are not toned down. But there are indeed some colours that are sweet and alluring. Yellow sure happens to be one of such colours. It is a colour that stands for light, just as colour green stands for life, vegetation and nature.
This time, Queen Siaka Nimat  stepped out in this colour.

I can act as prostitute, my husband understands –Chinyere Wilfred

Chinyere Wilfred is a super-screen goddess, as it were. She has stayed up to two decades in the movie world and she is not ready to retire or step aside. She loves what she is doing with a passion and so would not quit. Her staying power, she says, is derived from the fact that she has an understanding husband, who is not jealous. In this interview with Adaeze Amos, she explores her unique world in Nollywood, recapitulating fond memories in a career that has thrown her up as a star. Excerpts:
What are your desires, aspirations and expectations in the new year?
Well, I’m expecting a whole lot of blessings from God. I know that this coming year is my year of explosion. I’m going to explode in the movie industry, in the music industry, in whatever I do. I’m going to receive uncommon favour from God. So, I’m expecting a whole lot of blessings from God. Besides, I have always been praying for Nollywood and I would tell you that there shall be no death again in the industry. The young would not die. We would not bury anybody again in Nollywood. In fact, last year alone, more than 10 people died and it happened within the same period of time. But it would never be our potion anymore. Never! It would never be our potion. We would all live and experience the goodness of God in our lives in the land of the living. Yes, we won’t bury anybody in Nollywood by the special grace of God.

I express myself through my looks –Thelma O’khaz

Thelma O’khaz is that Nollywood star you’d easily notice in a maddening crowd. This is because of her weird hairstyles and long, curved and artistic nails, which she says her sources of identity. Thelma, who is happily married with four children, speaks stardom and what thrills her about acting in this interview with Adaeze Amos
You have been known as a hot actress because of your dressing, are you going to mellow down this year?
I’m one person that hates to pretend. I dress the way I feel, and I speak more with my dressing. I don’t talk much, I prefer to express myself through my looks and if that means mellowing down, then I’m sorry it won’t be possible.
In your own words, who exactly is Thelma O’khaz?
Thelma O’khaz is an artiste; I sing and I’m also an actress. I’m from Auchi in Edo state.

Yes, I play witchcraft roles, but I’m not a witch –Patience Oseni, actress

I quit marriage because I was being battered –Judith Iwuh, actress

Judith Iwuh is the first female in the family of three siblings. She went into stage drama before joining Nollywood. In this interview with Adaeze Amos, she speaks about the challenges of bringing up children as a single mother, among other issues.
When did you start acting?
I started with stage drama. That was in 2008. I was with the First Global Event, a drama group. The late Ambassador Olusola was our patron. We used to travel from one place to the other to entertain people on stage.
Which is more tedious, the stage drama or movie set?
Stage drama is more tedious because you have to do everything live. If you make a mistake, you can’t reverse it. There is no room for correction and everyone would see that you have made a mistake. Stage drama was more challenging but I was enjoying it. I had the passion for acting right from when I was in secondary school. Even then, I used to give myself a situation where I would be interpreting roles on my own. Some of my classmates in school usually thought I was possessed while doing that. They used to call me ‘Ogbanje’ (evil spirit) because I would be talking to myself while interpreting roles on my own…roles that were not used in any drama. It was fun then doing it. My friends then didn’t understand me. But I was never bothered; I was acting on my own. I remember then, there was one mad woman they used to call ‘Nda Lucy’. Because I was acting on my own, they started calling me ‘Nda Lucy’. I used to myself a lot. I have always lived being in my own. They made gossips about me and some would call me mad woman frontally.

I cried for joy when I won cos I had participated in six beauty pageants and lost –Collete Nwadike, Miss Tourism Nigeria 2014

Collete Nwadike Miss Tourism Nigeria 2014 has started having movie roles. The 24-year-old English and Literature graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, unveiled her lifestyle to Adaeze Amos.
Which other beauty pageants did you participate  before Miss Tourism pageant?
Before I contested for ‘Miss Tourism Nigeria’, I had done six other pageants; this was the seventh. The first I did was in my department; that was NASEL which means National Association of English and Literature Students. Someone else won it. I was neither first nor second runner-up. I also tried the Miss UNIZIK, the university queen. I didn’t win. At that point, I felt like giving up. Then, I said, let me give a bigger pageant a try. I auditioned for the ‘Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria’. I didn’t even make it to the audition. I still pushed. I decided to go for ‘Miss Earth Nigeria’ and I came out as ‘Miss Photogenic’, still not a runner-up. It was just a recognition, they didn’t give me any crown. I then went for ‘Miss Global Nigeria’ two years ago. I didn’t even make the third 10. I felt like quitting. But I later asked myself, why am I giving up? I decided to do more. I went for ‘Most Beautiful Girl’ pageant in Abuja; and I came out as the second runner-up.

It wasn’t easy to get over the death of my baby-Cheesandra Mba Akpan, an actress

Cheesandra Mba Akpan is an actress with Tinsel, a popular soap opera on DSTV. She is also a music diva. The artiste who had been out of public glare owing to the loss of her baby, tellsAdaeze Amos how she handled the emotional trauma and roles she can’t accept, among others.
You disappeared from the entertainment scene for some time, what actually happened?
I got married in June last year but had a baby in December. The baby died in March, two months and 11 days after birth. It wasn’t really easy to get over it, but God has been there. Having worked for a while, because I got pregnant, I had to take a break from Tinsel to come back sometime in July. But for my music career, I have been recording some new stuffs and I’m trying to promote a new single and do a video and push it. For movies, I have gone for some auditions and castings. Because of that break in transmission; if you leave it, it would leave you too, so, I’m trying to come back. Not much has been happening with me.

For now, nude roles should wait. Most of my fans are children- Amanda Ebeye, actress

Amada Ebeye became popular in a movie known as ‘Clinic Matters, where she played the role of ‘Abigail’. But since she featured in her maiden movie, ‘Weeping Tiger’ in 2007, she had taken part in many soap operas. In this interview with Adaeze Amos, the International Studies and Diplomacy graduate of Benson Idahosa University, Edo State speaks about her debut in a movie.
Can you relive the first time you appeared in a movie?
The first time I was on a movie set; I had mixed feelings. I was nervous and confident at the same time. It is that kind of feeling that goes through your head when you are unsure and  sure at the same time. I had internal battles but somehow I overcame them.
How daring are you in romance movies?
I used to be very daring; I mean extremely daring in romance roles when I started newly. But it’s not so now.
Which actor would you like to be paired in romance movies?
I can’t mention who I would like to be paired based on his looks or how I’ve seen him act in movies before. The reason is that, for me, it’s a connection. There are quite amber of fantastic actors I’ve watched on TV; we got paired and I felt no connection. But the movie still turned out good to other people, so I really can’t say I will like to pair this or that person.

I can’t do without my wristwatch-Ken Eric, actor

Give me romance role with any good actor –Empress Ene

All through childhood, I wanted to be a super star –Sonia Ogiri, actress

Ogiri is a Nollywood actress who has gained reputation. The strikingly beautiful super star known for her lead roles on the screen recently survived a crash and her car was condemned beyond repair. Back to acting after spending some time in hospital, she tells Adaeze Amosabout her near death, lifestyle and motivation in the movie world.
Who actually inspired you to come to the movie world?
Movie stars such as Liz Benson, Joke Silver and Genevieve Nnaji inspired me to take to acting. They actually made me sit down and watch their movies. Each time I watched them, I would want to be known and showcased like them. Liz Benson’s beauty, for instance, used to throw me off balance. Each time I watched her movies, I felt like wanting to see her beautiful face all the time; I will just go off my own track. I remember telling myself times without number that she is beautiful. She is a fantastic actress.
Another thing that inspired me is the passion I have for acting. Right from childhood, I had longed to be known. I didn’t want to be a silent citizen that nobody would know, hear or talk about.

I was denied movie roles ’cos I refused to open my legs-Okeoghene Omoferi, actress

Okeoghene Omoferi is an actress, movie producer, script writer and style aficionado who joined Nollywood about three years ago. She has starred in several movies but says her refusal to acquiesce to the demands of amorous producers has denied her roles in movies. This great beauty tells Adaeze Amos in this interview about her acting career and lifestyle.
Why did you choose to be an actress when, indeed, you could have been a great broadcaster?
I opted for acting because I have always been an expressive or communicative person. Acting makes me express myself. I could say that I joined the acting world so as to express myself through roles I interpret. I like talking, articulating my views and making my points clear to the next person. In the acting world, I have the opportunity to do all that.
When did you start acting?
I started acting about three years ago. I haven’t really starred much in movies. This is because I have had to turn down quite a number of scripts because I didn’t want to be stereotyped. I had also lost some scripts because I refused to use what I have in-between my legs to get what I want. I refused to open my legs to some movie producers who asked for that.
Which of the movies you have starred in brought you into the limelight?
It is the movie titled ‘Remember Me’. It was not even a movie per se. It was a TV series on ‘My TV’ cable station. So many people watched and liked it. They liked how I interpreted my role in the series. That propelled people to encourage me to keep doing what I’m doing.

I can push harder than most men –Sandra Eze, actress/TV Presenter

Sandra Eze from Anambra State has four other siblings “and we’re very close.” She refused to disclose her age, “but I’m pretty young and ambitious,” she giggles. The English Language and Literature graduate from Nnamdi Azikiwe University is a TV personality, a model and an actress. In this interview with Adaeze Amos, she talked about how she combines the three tasking career together successfully.
You are an actress, a TV personality and a model, how do you juggle these three tasking professionS together?
Yes, I do the three daunting professions to the glory of God.  God gave me the talents, I asked Him for opportunities to showcase them and He provided it. So, as much as juggling it all is tasking, I don’t complain.  I’m doing what I love and I could only pray the pay cheque keeps rising.  Although all days are not usually busy. On days like that, I’d just have a ‘me’ time at home or at the beach.
What are some of the movies you have starred in?
I’ve featured in projects such as 4 Walls, Karma, Bella’s Place, Silence, Tinsel, Knocking on Heaven’s Door and so on.

I can play romance role with any actor-Omowunmi Dada, actress

Omowunmi Dada  presents and do a lot of voicing both for radio jingles, documentaries and animations. The last and only girl in the family of four  is also an actress of great repute, a total thespian so to say. She studied Creative Arts in the University of Lagos. In this interview with Adaeze Amos she talked about her childhood, her acting career and her lifestyle.
Did you have your parents’ support to study Creative Arts?
It is true that my parents were strict disciplinarians but they were not the types that believed you had to be either a lawyer or doctor to be considered successful. So, I have always had their support. Although I have always had passion for what I’m doing but to me it’s not enough to be passionate about something. I believe in taking necessary steps to master my passion. So I have gone to school and I still take steps to learn more in front of the camera and behind it. I have always loved arts  right from being in cultural troupes in primary and secondary school. Funny enough my very first play was in primary five, my dad told me a story about Everyman and when it was time to leave for secondary school I called my peers and gave them the idea or re enacting the story. I directed it then. Of course there was no script but I put everyone through the little way I could and we had a good show.
When did you start featuring in stage plays?
I started featuring stage productions right from when I was in school. I have been part of over 40 stage projects some of which include opera, mime, pantomime and dramatisation of poems.  Then, for screen I have been part of over 20 projects(movies, short films inclusive and series )

Mum encouraged me to become an actress -Sylvya Oluchi

My captivating personality made me a beauty queen –Samantha Ubani, Miss Imo State

Samantha Ubani studied Chemistry at the Imo State University. She is the current Miss Imo State, Miss Tourism Photogenic and former Face of Miss Imo State University. In this interview with Adaeze Amos, she gives an insight into her emergence and duty as beauty queen, among others.
Before you became the Miss Imo Beauty Queen, had you participated in other beauty pageants before?
Yes, I had done a couple of other pageants before I was crowned the ‘Miss Imo Beauty Queen’. For instance, I once contested for the ‘Queen of Trust 2013’ where I became the first runner-up. I also contested for ‘Miss University Nigeria’, and I emerged one of the top five. I was also the ‘Campus Queen of Imo State University’ in 2012 before I opted for ‘Miss Imo State Beauty Queen’. This means that I had good knowledge of what I was going in for.
