Ken Eric, famed for his baritone voice, has featured in so many movies where he mostly interprets bad guy roles. He is one guy that can’t be caught shabbily dressed. In this interview with Adaeze Amos, he unveils his wardrobe and the style that makes a larger part of it.
How would you describe what you are wearing?
I’m basically on a corporate wear this evening.
Who is your best designer?
I go for anything that suits me. I could say that my best designer is Amani, but to be candid, any good designer works for me. As long as it goes with my body, I go for it.
What kind of outfit makes a larger part of your wardrobe?
I’m a casual person, except I’m going for something very formal or traditional, that is when you see me put on suits. But basically, I’m a casual person because of the nature of my job.
What is your best colour?
Black and white are my best colours and best combinations.
Why do you choose black and white?
I don’t know. I just feel at home with black and white. I think it is something you can blend with easily and perhaps mix with whichever way you like, and it comes out looking good.
What is that attire you would never be caught wearing?
As an actor, I can’t put limit to what I can be seen wearing because I don’t know, I could come up with anything tomorrow. That is why I’m an actor.
What’s the fashion item you can’t do without?
I can’t do without my wristwatch. Maybe, because I’m time-conscious.
What is your signature perfume?
Excellent is my signature perfume. It is hard yet subtle and mild.
What is your most expensive clothing item?
Some pair of shoes that I bought recently. It’s really expensive. I love to wear good shoes. I wear all colours, especially when I’m working, but I’m very cool with corporate shoes and casual sneakers.
How do you think the world would look like without fashion?
It would look boring.
Who is your mentor in the fashion?
I look up to a lot of people when it comes to fashion. I love Richard Mofe Damijo’s simplicity when it comes to fashion.
