Excerpts
What is it about you that your fans are not yet aware of?
Many
of my fans are yet to know that I'm a very simple person. When they look at my
attires and pictures, most of them have a very different view of who I am. But
honestly I'm very simple and private. I cherish my privacy a whole lot although I'm in a profession that makes it difficult to be in a cooler but I value my
privacy a lot.
What is the true meaning of
your name Nzubechi
Nzubechi
is an Igbo name that means God's plan but my friends mostly prefer to call me
Zubech.
Tell us a bit more about
yourself?
Well,
there is nothing much about me apart from the fact that I'm an actress who
started acting mainly because of the passion I have for acting. I feel it is a
good means of reaching out to people. That was why after graduating from
University of Nigeria Nsukka, Alvan Ikoku Campus, Owerri, where I studied
Economics I delved into acting. I seriously have a sizzling passion for acting.
Name some movies
you have featured in
I
have featured in so many movies really which Sleep Over,7 Books of Moses, Pretty liars, Mafia University,
Who Is The Chosen, Festival of Riches, Babes of the ministry. In fact, I have lost count (laughs) but
for now, these are the few I can remember off hand.
Out of all these which one
is the most challenging one and why?
The
most challenging one is Festival of Riches.
Reason is that I played the
role of an imbecile. I did it so well that when some of my fans see me, they
expect to see an imbecile walking maybe with saliva gushing down my mouth.
If you were not an actress,
what/who would you have been?
I
would have loved to be a teacher. Yes I know this sounds surprising to you from
your facial expression maybe because you know how our teachers are ignored in
this part of the country. They are not well paid unlike their counterparts in
the western world. But all the same that has not doused the passion I have for
teaching. If not for my teachers, I wouldn't have been who I am today. Remember
I didn't study Theatre Arts in the university. I studied Economics and that
became possible because of good teachers who took their time to teach me and
impact the knowledge in me. So, what are you talking about? If that is the only
way of giving back to the society, why not? I love to teach and learn as well
because when you are teaching, you are also learning. It’s a two-way thing. But
because acting has taken the better part of me, that is why I'm not in
classroom today.
What exactly makes you happy
as an actress?
I can't
really say, but I think what thrills me about my acting career is the
impression and expression I get from my fans due to roles I have interpreted in movies. I do get kudos from movies I have starred in and that makes me happy.
Which very role are you in
your best to interpret?
As
an artiste I can interpret any role. I'm good in what I do and I'm versatile.
How daring are you in
romance roles?
Well if I must answer it I will say that I do my
best...(laughs). Yes, I bring out my best in romance roles.
Which Nollywood actor have
you had a fantastic kissing with?
Haa,
how do you expect me to answer this question? Please it is personal, yes it is private.
I won’t tell you. My answer to this very question is none!
What is the craziest thing a
male fan has ever done to you?
Sketching
my picture on my birthday and sending it to me
Now that you have fame, what
else are you expecting from God?
I
need long life and God's protection. The way some of my colleagues died
untimely is not good at all. It’s scary. So, I need long life and His divine
protection.
Can you relieve your first
experience on a movie set?
That
was some three years ago. I wasn't scared but I was nervous and that was
natural because it was my first time as a beginner.
What part of your body do
you consider very sexy?
(laughs)...Every
part of my body is sexy. In fact, none
is too important and none is less important.
