Miss Curvy Nigeria, Tourism pays courtesy call to Kwara State Commissioner for Health
By ADAEZE AMOS
Exactly on
the sixth day of the new year (6/1/2016), Queen Siaka Nimat was off to work.
She is not prone to just sitting before
her mirror for hours admiring herself. Neither is she a beauty queen who wears a
diamond-studded crown about with a long sash across her shoulder only to attend
glamorous events/parties.
Her one year
tenure as a beautiful queen according to her is a platform to touch lives and
put smiles to the lips of people. That was why she traveled to Kwara state yesterday
to pay a courtesy call to the state commissioner of health.
“I actually
went to see him to submit my pet project proposal to him because part of my
project is to anchor programs, seminars and talk shows that would tackle the
major challenges plus size women face in
the society -ranging from low self esteem, discrimination and health issues
such as high blood pressure, diabetes and cervical cancer. He promised getting
back to me,” she giggled, excitedly.
I’m
sincerely proud of this queen. I desperately wish other beauty queens would
emulate her. Especially those who are yet to do a single thing for humanity.
Remember that if you were crowned a beauty queen last year 2015, this year is
the very year you would relinquish your crown, so that another queen would be
crowned in your place. Remember your tenure lasts for year and you need to
fulfill every promise you made the very
night you were crowned. Promises of a beauty queen are not supposed to be empty
promises. You would give account of what you did as a queen before paparazzi at
the due time.
So, if you
know you are a beauty queen worth your crown and sash, buckle up and get to work.
Do something that would benefit people knowing that whatever seed you sow now
as a queen, fate has a way of making you reap bountifully from it. Remember the
Biblical queen Esther, her story still makes sense till today because of what
she did. Yes, till date, people still reckon with her story. So, why not be the
Queen Esther of your own time?
That is exactly what Queen Siaka Nimat is out to
do this year before another Miss Curvy Nigeria Tourism is crowned. “Yes, I’m
determined to work without wasting time. Time I know waits for no one. I would
soon be visiting the Ooni of Ife too. The new king of Osun state before
traveling out of the country to talk about tourist attractions of my country
out there,” she said, as a matter of fact.
