Ere Ese and Oba Atoyese, two Yoruba bluckbusters
just released!
Are you a Yoruba movie addict or you
The first is Ere Ese produced by Sholla Akintunde aka Lagata
and marketed by Olasco films. While the second is titled Oba Adetoyese directed
by Okiki Afolayan and featured people
like Muyiwa Ademola, Moji Olaiya, Morenike Alausa and Bolanle Abdul-Salam the movie producer herself, who also produced
her first movie in 2008. She starred as
Boonuola. Oba Adetoyese expalined the life of a couple that were living
together happily until the moment the husband was chosen as a king in their
village. Meanwhile there was a package that was unveiled to the king
during the coronation; once a king was crowned, a young virgin must
be presented to him as the small Olori (queen) because that had been the
tradition of the village for so many years. And no king had the audacity to
reject the package. After the king accepted the young virgin, he abandoned her
in her room, never wanted to see her due to the kind of love he had for his
wife. But the wife tried her possible best to ensure that Kabiesi gave the
young queen attention in the palace.
Sadly, the lady later betrayed her to the extent that she was thrown out of the
palace.
